Simple DIY Paper Flowers
These 3D flowers may not be the most intricate, but their simplicity makes them easy to assemble and perfect for beginners. Whether you want to decorate a wall, create a party favor, or spruce up a gift package, these flowers come together with just a few steps: cut, fold, and glue!
What You’ll Need:
Colored Cardstock Paper (in any colors you like)；Hot Glue Gun；Rhinestones (optional for extra sparkle)；For Cricut Users: Cricut Design Space Template, Scoring Tool/Scoring Wheel；For Hand Cutting: Printable Flower Template, Scoring Board (or blunt object like a butter knife), Scissors
How to Make Easy 3D Paper Flowers
Step 1: Cut the Flowers You’ll need two flower shapes per flower (same color for both). Use a Cricut machine or scissors to cut them out.
With Cricut: Open the Cricut Design Space template, adjust the size, and cut with your Cricut machine. The scoring lines will be included, so your Cricut will handle the folds too.
By Hand: Print and trace the flower template onto cardstock. Cut out two flowers per design.
Step 2: Score the Flowers (For Hand-Cutting Only) If cutting by hand, score one flower by adding an "X" shape on the top flower. Use a ruler and blunt object (like a butter knife) to create these lines, which will help the flower fold into a 3D shape.
Step 3: Fold the Flowers Fold along the score lines in both directions, pinching the petals toward the center. This step forms the 3D look of your flower.
Step 4: Glue the Flowers Together Apply hot glue to the center of the flat flower. Attach the folded flower on top, pinching it until the glue cools and holds the shape.
Customizing Your Paper Flowers
Once you've mastered this easy technique, you can make flowers in different sizes and colors for various occasions—perfect for backdrops, bridal showers, or even a stunning paper flower wall!
